Finding/Sorting Biggest Files in directories
We can easily find the biggest file in the hard-drive/directory using the following command:
$ cd path_to_directory
$ ls -lR | sort +4n
For finding out biggest file in harddrive just go to root and run the commnd.

Installation Process if well described their.
For gentoo users, use following command to install:
$ emerge -av net-misc/nxserver-freenx
10-Tips for fast browsing in Firefox
1) Press F6 to go to the address bar.
2) Press F5 to refresh.
3) Press middle click (scroller) to open windows in new tab
4) Press middle click (scroller) on the tab to close window in windows ad CTRL+W in linux.
5) Add shorcuts for search engines. Read this. See this pic for settings.
6) Use master password and save all the login/password you use frequently. You can do it by edit>preference>privacy>change master password.
As your password is already saved in login/password form , signin button is already selected. Just press enter to login dont need to retype the login/password again and again.
7) Block all the images that you dont want to see. Just click at "ADBLOCK" at the right bottom corner. Choose the image you dont need and press OK.
Use CTRL+TAB for browsing in tabs. In linux you can do it by using CTRL+PageUp or CTRL+PageDown.
9) Press "/" ((backslash) for finding words in firefox.
Enter to find next.
CTRL+Enter to highlight all.
SHIFT+ENTER to open that highlighted link in ew windows.
SHIFT+CTRL+ENTER to open highlighted link in new tab.
ESC to escape from find option.
"If you page contains a lot of links like in wordpress/tags. Just press "/" find the word and press either SHIFT+ENTER or SHIFT+CTRL+ENTER."
10) Press CTRL+T for new tab. CTRL+W for closing the active tab.
My Blog Stat -Examination Effect :-)

Bambaiyya - Anything that relates to anything that even vaugely relates to Bombay. Bambaiyaa is something that every resident of Bombay would love to be called !

Chava / Chavi - Boyfriend/GirlFriend
Chikna/Chikni - Stands for any good looking fellow. Chikni is the female version of the same word.
Dhapnya / Battery / double battery - Refers to a person wearing prescription glasses. Dhapnya is a marathi word. The Ghati way of saying this would be "bya-tree".
Chaayla ! – The original meaning is quiet demeaning. The contemporary meaning is so flexible that "Chaayla" can be used anywhere in a casual conversation. Pragmatically speaking this word doesnt have any meaning.
Haila ! – This originated from "Hai Allah !". Haila would translate to "Oh God!"
Keeda / SulemaniKeeda – An absolute pest.
Jhakaas – Superb. Excellent.
Mandvali / Mandavli – Compromise.
Gangaram - For a barber.
Chagan / Dhating / Hajaam – Hajaam in its true sense would mean a barber. It refers to anyone with a moronic intellect. I think the meaning of the word "Chagan" better be left unsaid.
Atrangi – One meaning of this word is similar to Hajaam. Atrangi also mean something extraordinary.
ChappanTikkli / Punter / Tapori / Shana – Roadside loafer. Tapori is among the most commonly used words in Bhindi.
Charsi / Fookda / Soootya - A smoker. Charas is exactly marijuana. Charasi would mean any guy who smokes though.
Raanti / Saand – A boisterous or an exceeding brash guy.
Bevada / Gutter / Taankee / Batli / JohnnyWalker – A Drunk. JohnnyWalker comes from either the actor by the name or the whiskey brand.
Rappak ( stress on "pp" ) – means Slap. ( eg. Kaan kay neechay rappak lagaoonga. )
Tapri - A road side shop.
Chotay - For any kid working in a Tapri. If the shop has more than one kid … all would have to be Chotays.
Ramu - see "chotay"
Mava / (120 – 300) EkSauBees-TeenSau – This is a type of paan that you get here. 120 and 300 are the flavors of tabacco. Mava is everything that paan has without the betel-leaf. Terms also refer to the person who consumes it.
Manikchand – Manikchand is a famous brand of chewing tabacco. This term also stands for a person who consumes it.
Dhoop Chaav - Means Sun and Shade. Refers to the shops owned by the road side barbers who just have a rag for the Chaav and is obviously hole-ridden to let the Dhoop come in.
Mahim - Matunga / Vasai – Virar – This is a term used for squints. M-M and V-V are neighbouring localities in Bombay. The origin of this term is unknown.
Ghungroo Salmaan – This term is very new but catching on fast. Ghungroo refers to a curly haired guy. Salmaan (Khan) comes in the picture since the "Ghunroo Salmaan" fellow is obviously mistaking himself to be a Hindi film hero. It's used as a put-down.
Cutting – A little_more_than_half cup of Tea is a cutting. The Cutting concept would have been started by people who used to split a cup of tea between 2 people… and finally the tea vendor started selling half cup of tea and called it "cutting". A little_more_than_half is given to increase the patrons.
AndhaDhuni / Aadva-Patta – These are a cricketing terms. AadvaPatta comes from Pune, means "Cross batted shot". AndhaDhuni means "Blind shot". But nowadays these refer to any guy who doesn't bat well.
Ghaati - Ghaatis are the residents of the hilly/rural regions of Maharashtra. In Bhindi, a Ghati would mean any person whose mother tongue is Marathi. It's quiet demeaning….. and thus heard more frequently.
Gujju / Ganda-Gujratis. The money men of Mumbai. These guys are easily spotted on the road – either in colorful shirts, embroidered trousers, against the mirror of a parked vehicle combing their hair, or something equally funny. These guys are the second largest community in Bombay after the Marathi-speaking people. Ganda acutally means mad. No need to explain why.
Madrasi - Earlier in india there is only one state Madras. People belongs to that place is called "MADRASI".
Gulti – This is a fairly new term. Used for people from Andhra Pradesh. I don't have a clue about its origin or actual meaning.
According to a site visitor "well … it is telugu … say it Ulta .. anagram … and u get gulti"
Bhaiya / Pandit - Any guy from UP / Bihar / MP / Delhi / Northern states is called a Bhaiya. Pandit is also used interchangeably but is mostly used for the guys at the Lassi/Doodh shops or for Panwallas.
Paapay / Papajee – A Sikh. Dont know what a paapay means. I am sure its not insulting or anything.
Bawa / Pestonjee - The Parsees. The most harmless. Jovial and great company. Definitely the most teased people on the Hindi silver screen. Every movie has to have at least one funny character called "Rustom" or "Pestonjee" who has to have a fat and an overtly boisterious wife. Incidently Parsees also are the most affluent and among the richest in the Indian community. Bombay is also called "ParseeSthan" since this is the place where you find most of them.
Cheena / Chapata / Nepali / Shaab-babu ( 'sh' as in 'huSH' )- Any slant-eyed guy is called Cheena or Nepali. Doesn't matter if he is from Kerala and some genetic disorder messed up his eye. He would still be a Nepali. The best part is many of the north eastern states and even West Bengal have people with slant eyes. However, if they happen to land in Bombay, they would be from Nepal. The Chinese/Japs/Koreans all fall in the same category. Shaab-babu comes from the fact that these Nepali gurkhas call every other person they see "Shaab-babu". I wouldn't be too surprised to find out that they call their parents that too.
Sai ( Saa-eeen – the second part is increasingly nasal ) – The Sindhis. The Partition-time migrants from Pakistan. If a Hindi movie doesn't have a Parsee… a Sindhi has to come at some point to lighten the spirits. These guys are known for all the Papads they consume.
Mia-bhai - The members of the Islamic faith.
Bong / Bonglababu / Babumoshai ( pronunciation should have maximum sounds of "O" as possible ) – for any Bangla.

Mani Ben – Gujju girl or woman who is very orthodox and avoid boys or men)
Sakhu Bai - Marathi counter part of Mani Ben
Rada - Kind of a quarrel involving fist fight or street fight
Yeda – crazy or a person with low common sense

Tikdum -any unusual gimmick
Maal -advance booking of a chosen person of opposite sex – much the same way as booking of goods

The proxy provides the resource either by connecting to the specified server or by serving it from a cache. In some cases, the proxy may alter the client's request or the server's response for various purposes.
A proxy server can also serve as a firewall.
Web proxies
A common proxy application is a caching Web proxy. This provides a nearby cache of Web pages and files available on remote Web servers, allowing local network clients to access them more quickly or reliably.
When it receives a request for a Web resource (specified by a URL), a caching proxy looks for the resulting URL in its local cache. If found, it returns the document immediately. Otherwise it fetches it from the remote server, returns it to the requester and saves a copy in the cache. The cache usually uses an expiry algorithm to remove documents from the cache, according to their age, size, and access history. Two simple cache algorithms are Least Recently Used (LRU) and Least Frequently Used (LFU). LRU removes the documents that have been left the longest, while LFU removes the least popular documents.
Web proxies can also filter the content of Web pages served. Some censorware applications — which attempt to block offensive Web content — are implemented as Web proxies. Other web proxies reformat web pages for a specific purpose or audience; for example, Skweezer reformats web pages for cell phones and PDAs. Network operators can also deploy proxies to intercept computer viruses and other hostile content served from remote Web pages.
A special case of web proxies are "CGI proxies." These are web sites which allow a user to access a site through them. They generally use PHP or CGI to implement the proxying functionality. CGI proxies are frequently used to gain access to web sites blocked by corporate or school proxies. Since they also hide the user's own IP address from the web sites they access through the proxy, they are sometimes also used to gain a degree of anonymity.
Proxy transparency
Many organizations — including corporations, schools, and families — use proxy servers to enforce network use policies (see censorware) or provide security and caching services. Usually, the web proxy is not transparent to the client application: it must be configured to use the proxy, manually or with a configuration script. Thus, the user can evade the proxy by simply resetting the client configuration, except in the case where the proxy is used instead of a NAT router to share an internet conection or a LAN. Such proxies may be difficult to configure for applications requiring a large port range out going and may only be able to route inward to a single server for a given UDP or TCP port (see Wingate 2.x versions). However such proxies may have more extensive logging or more customizable security than a simple NAT router box.
A transparent proxy or transproxy (also known as a forced proxy) combines a proxy server with NAT so that connections are routed into the proxy without client-side configuration. However, RFC 3040 defines this type as intercepting proxy.
Both NAT and transproxies are somewhat controversial in the Internet technical community, since both violate the end-to-end principle upon which TCP/IP was designed.
The term proxy is also used in a different sense in the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) used in many modern voice over IP systems. A SIP Proxy, unlike a Web proxy, does not handle the content of client data.
Open proxies, abuse, and detection
An open proxy is a proxy server which will accept client connections from any IP address and make connections to any Internet resource. Abuse of open proxies is currently implicated in a significant portion of e-mail spam delivery. Spammers frequently install open proxies on unwitting end users' Microsoft Windows computers by means of computer viruses designed for this purpose. Internet Relay Chat (IRC) abusers also frequently use open proxies to cloak their identities.
Because proxies could be implicated in abuse, system administrators have developed a number of ways to refuse service to open proxies. IRC networks such as the Blitzed network automatically test client systems for known types of open proxy [1]. Likewise, an email server may be configured to automatically test e-mail senders for open proxies, using software such as Michael Tokarev's proxycheck [2].
Groups of IRC and electronic mail operators run DNSBLs publishing lists of the IP addresses of known open proxies, such as Blitzed OPM [3] and CBL [4].
The ethics of automatically testing clients for open proxies are controversial. Some experts, such as Vernon Schryver, consider such testing to be equivalent to an attacker portscanning the client host. [5] Others consider the client to have solicited the scan by connecting to a server whose terms of service include testing.
Reverse proxies
A reverse proxy is a proxy server that is installed in the neighborhood of one or more webservers. All traffic coming from the Internet and with a destination of one of the webservers is going through the proxy server. There are several reasons for installing reverse proxy servers:
Security: the proxy server is an additional layer of defense and therefore protects the webservers further up the chain
Encryption / SSL acceleration: when secure websites are created, the SSL encryption is often not done by the webserver itself, but by a reverse proxy that is equipped with SSL acceleration hardware. See Secure Sockets Layer.
Load distribution: the reverse proxy can distribute the load to several webservers, each webserver serving its own application area. In such a case, the reverse proxy may need to rewrite the URLs in each webpage (translation from externally known URLs to the internal locations)
Serve/cache static content: A reverse proxy can offload the webservers by caching static content like pictures and other static graphical content (See Squid cache)
Compression: the proxy server can optimize and compress the content to speed up the load time.
Split proxies
A split proxy is essentially a pair of proxies installed across two computers. Since they are effectively two parts of the same program, they can communicate with each other in a more efficient way than they can communicate with a more standard resource or tool such as a website or browser. This is ideal for compressing data over a slow link, such as a wireless or mobile data service and also for reducing the issues regarding high latency links (such as satellite internet) where estabilishing a TCP connection is time consuming. Taking the example of web browsing, the user's browser is pointed to a local proxy which then communicates with its other half at some remote location. This remote server fetches the requisite data, repackages it and sends it back to the user's local proxy, which unpacks the data and presents it to the browser in the standard fashion .
Google's Web Accelerator is an example of a split proxy.
Anonymous proxy risks
In using a proxy server (for example, anonymizing HTTP proxy), all data sent to the service being used (for example, HTTP server in a website) must pass through the proxy server before being sent to the service, mostly in unencrypted form. It is therefore possible, and has been demonstrated (see, for example, Sugarcane) for a malicious proxy server to record everything sent to the proxy: including unencrypted logins and passwords.
By chaining proxies which do not reveal data about the original requestor, it is possible to obfuscate activities from the eyes of the user's destination. However, more traces will be left on the intermediate hops, which could be used or offered up to trace the user's activities. If the policies and administrators of these other proxies are unknown, the user may fall victim to a false sense of security just because those details are out of sight and mind.
The bottom line of this is to be wary when using proxy servers, and only use proxy servers of known integrity (e.g., the owner is known and trusted, has a clear privacy policy, etc.), and never use proxy servers of unknown integrity. If there is no choice but to use unknown proxy servers, do not pass any private information (unless it is properly encrypted) through the proxy.
Popular proxy server software
The Squid cache is a popular HTTP proxy server in the UNIX/Linux world.
The Apache HTTP Server can be configured to act as a proxy server.
Wingate is a multi protocol proxy server and NAT solution that can be used to redirect any kind of traffic on a Microsoft Windows host. It also provides firewall and mail server functionality.
Privoxy is a free, open source web proxy with privacy features
AnalogX Proxy is a small (269kB) , free application that can proxy HTTP, HTTPS, POP3, SMTP, NNTP, FTP, and Socks4/4a and partial Socks5 (no UDP) protocols.
Freeproxy is a freeware proxy server from Hand Crafted Software.
The elhttp server is a lightweight HTTP proxy for UNIX and Windows (GPL license).
Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server is a product that runs on Windows 2000/2003 servers and combines the functions of both a proxy server and a firewall.
CGIProxy is a free open source CGI proxy script. Almost all proxy websites base their proxy scripts around this.
Sun Java System Web Proxy Server, formerly Sun ONE Web Proxy Server and iPlanet Web Proxy Server.
Tor – A proxy-based anonymyzing Internet communication system
Proxomitron – User-configurable web proxy used to re-write webpages on the fly. Most noted for blocking ads, but has many other useful features.
PHProxy is a Web HTTP proxy programmed in PHP to bypass firewalls and other proxy restrictions through a Web interface very similar to the popular CGIProxy

Accessing Windows Desktop From linux
Just like "Remote Desktop" in windows we do have software in linux to access the windows desktop.

Now we can see who has visited our profile recently.It will get refreshed at 5:31am (Indian clock) or 12:00am (UTC/GMT) every days once.
Advantage:
Obviously we are always very curious to know about who visited our profile daily. For lovers, you can now know who is really silently loving you.Thats a bad reason though its quite natural that every lover visits his/her lover orkut profile daily if he/she has any orkut account. Orkut is very addictive.
Disadvatage:
1) You just can know the name of the person who is visiting your account but dont know about how many times he/she visited you. Though the all over count goes on increasing.But if there are more than 2 person visit your profile you can't say who has visited your profile for more times. So they should add this feature that we can see who has visited how many times.
2) As everything will be revealed. Now the problem is for those silent lovers who used to visit their lover profile daily now cannt do that as he/she knows that his/her lover has the recenetly visiter list.. bahhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuu

Inside every adult lurks a graduation speaker dying to get out, some world-weary pundit eager to pontificate on life to young people who'd rather be Rollerblading. Most of us, alas, will never be invited to sow our words of wisdom among an audience of caps and gowns, but there's no reason we can't entertain ourselves by composing a Guide to Life for Graduates.
I encourage anyone over 26 to try this and thank you for indulging my attempt.
Ladies and gentlemen of the class of '97:
Wear sunscreen.
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, never mind. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded. But trust me, in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.
Don't worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4 p.m. on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing every day that scares you.
Sing.
Don't be reckless with other people's hearts. Don't put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss.
Don't waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself.

Last Class of CHE-453 Part -I
Its really very much amazing and all together a different experience to intearact with Prof. Nitin Kaistha. May be he is among few professors whom i will always remember. He is different. Interact with students like a student. Talk like a friend. He is just transparent. He talks from his heart and expect the same from you.
Today is the last class of Prof. Kaistha.Actually this whole week all students are supposed to present their work. So everyday we had fours presentation (as there are total 11 groups). As attendence was compulsory so nobody had missed the class. So this is the first time we have seen all the students together. There were days when we hardly see any students attending his class. Only 5-10 students went to his class. This is not because he is boring or so but he never cared about attendence at that time. He just expect us to show the result rather than sincerity in the class. Whatever i was among the 80% stundents who hardly go to classes.
He gave us 4 assignments. According to his data, 80% of the students copied from each other and to tell you the truth, though we resist a lot about this but, he was quite true. May be the assignment was hard enough to solve for some of the students but an average student could have done that. It was just lack of sincirity in that class and their belief on "LAST MINUTE WORK". So he finally decided to give us a project on which whole grading will be decided. But this didnt solve the problem of copying. As the project is tough we were grouped in 5. But students were more smarter than him. They formed group with the most of good students of the class. Now in every group there are only 2-3 people who works. So here also 40%-60% people did nothing. So finally he decided to take an end semester exam which will decide the grade. Hopefully! No copying will be done there. may god bless us so that we gwet good marks in that and just get out of this place.

Windows Tips : Using Keyboard
Here I am gonna explain you, how we can access each and every application in windows using run command as we do in linux rather than using mouse and clicking everywhere to open the application.
Before explaining that you should know what are the advantage of this tip:
1) I personally dont like using mouse too much. After this tip you will be able to access each and every application using run command.
2) Whenever you install software, they cover the desktop which I seriously hate. So it will help us making the desktop look neat and clean with minimum number of icons.
3) Its a big pain to find each and every application in start>all program>>application and then start. So it will save your time also. You just need to remember the shortcuts.
Lets starts with the main thing that is how to do it:
Step 1: Make a directory anywhere you want. right click>New folder>Name_of _folder
$ mkdir name_of_folder
Step 2: Right click on My computer >> Advance >> Environment Variable >> Select path >>Edit
Add your name_of_folder path.e.g
C:/windows ; C:/matlab; D:/name_of_folder;
Step 4: Now you are ready to use. Now let us say you need to make a shortcut for microsoft word. You can just take the icon of microsoft word from the desktop or all program list and save it in that directory. Now change the name of the shorcut as you wish like "word". Now when you type "word" in the run command you will see microsoft will start.Similarly you can do for all the application.
You can also make .bat files for some commands.
Like in linux we have "ls" command used to "file/dir listing" but in windows we have "dir".
So you can make a file name "ls.bat" and in that bat file you can save the commands "dir".Now when you run "ls" then the content of the file will run and thus dir wiill be executed.
Shorcuts I use are :
ie ==> Internet Explorer (hardly use)
fftp ==> flash FXP ftp client
ta ==> telnet apah
m ==>mplayer
midx ==>mplayer -idx
song ==>winamp
commands ==>name_of_folder directory
fire ==>Firefox
word ==>MS word
excel ==>MS Excel
front ==>MS Frontpage
ls ==>dir

Why FIREFOX??
I dont have any other choice than FIREFOX… I love using it…
Let me explain something (its only between firefox and IE no other browser)
Tab browsing: Firefox comes first with this tab browsing which is now being copied by IE7 version.
Faster: Firefox is much faster. Yeah is is said that Firefox need much time to start but once it get started it is much faster than IE. Though I think IE never get closed fully.Once instance of it remains active thats why It opens faster than firefox. But firefox shuts fully.(Please confirm it I am not sure)
Lack of Extensions: I dont find so many extension in IE.We do have extenstion which can switch betwen IE and firefox.Means the website which is only accessible in IE can we open in firefox using the switcher.
Security: i never get any spyware since I am using firefox, dont know how you people got that.IE sucks here.Its my experience. Firefox is more secure.
Password Manager: I dont know in IE7 they have copied this thing or not because since ages I never used IE.
More configurable : Tools -> Options -> Privacy ->View cookies. Now delete some cookies with the 'Don't allow sites that set removed cookies to set future cookies'.
Searching : Just / (backslash) and it highlights everything. What the hell is there in IE..ctrl+F and keep clking next till you get the right position.
Shortcuts: We can create our own shortcuts to search or to put any entry in any textbox. Like I usually use IMDB for seaching in IMDB site, g for google, ym for yahoo movies.. can we do this in IE 7 ..nopes…They cant copy this time..[:D]

Last but not the least: I love open source products because they are *community* work not just a work of some *individuals*. Afterall what the hell is remains after disclosing the code. Any 14 year old guy can do that.
Sit sometime calmly and learn "HOW 'the one" MAKE SO MUCH MONEY?". Whenever I use those EULA products I feel like it is made of those small scale software developers who wanted to come in feild but got suppressed because of the existence of the monopoly. It is absoutely not that the product of those small scale industries were not good but they really cant afford to lower their product price and sale those products at lower than its productivity cost which "THE ONE" can do at that time. And as soon as small scale software industried get shut off, "THE ONEs" products started to sale at the higher price again to gain the money "The One" looses during that period. This is what we called a "SUPERMIND".
[P.S] Dont ask whom I am referring to by "THE ONE"?

Installation of PHP + MySQL + Apache ??
Its really tough for me in the begining days to install apache with mysql and php support. Just because even if i compile them separtely I got struck up while editing the configuration files.
XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. XAMPP is really very easy to install and to use – just download, extract and start.
XAMPP is available for Linux, Windows, MacOS and Solaris. IT IS FREE OF CHARGE.

In linux all configuration files are in /opt/lampp/etc/. Change the httpd.conf as above.
2) Configuring Phpmyadmin:
When you will open phpadmin, you will see that all the SQL database has no root password. You can add root password by doing this:
Privileges >> Edit the particular users.
But when you will add password to root. You will see that you wont be able to access phpmyadmin now. For that you need to change the file config.inc.php
